Spring Update
Can you believe that school will be over in just a couple of weeks? What a school year it has been!
We want to say CONGRATUALTIONS to our very own PTSA Treasurer, Tara Kneiser for receiving the Oak Ridge City Schools Volunteer of the Year Award. Her commitment to our students, teachers, school and our PTSA is boundless. We are so very proud to have her in our RAM Fam!
We would also like to say congratulations to the 8th grade graduating class and their families! We wish all of you the very best.
Next, we must say THANK YOU to all of our parents and students who have jumped in to volunteer and help this school year. We’d also like to extend a special thank you to all of our volunteers who supported our Teacher-Staff Appreciation Luncheon held on May 8th. Jeannie M., Leigh & Andrew F., Jen L., Tya T., Risa K., Alissa J., Brandy R., Lida W-S., Marla W., Tara, Boru & Odelia K., Melinda H., Stacey C., Roshana H., Joy B., Danyelle D., Eduarda & Rosa A., Bill L., Shauna J., Ame W., Julie, L., Erin W., Bridgette F., and Shelaine C.
Our teachers and staff have relayed to us how much they appreciated the luncheon and the RAM Perks drawing we had for them. They also wanted to pass along how much they appreciate the volunteerism our parents and students have shown throughout the school year for all of the PTSA sponsored events that have been held.
Speaking of events, yearbooks will be distributed on Monday, June 3rd. Students who purchased
yearbooks will get to participate in a signing party, and at which time ALL Robertsville students will be given complimentary Mayfield ice cream, courtesy of the PTSA!
We would also like to say a Big Thank You to Danielle Deshazier, Jen Linton and Jeannie Miller for all of their work and creativity on our Box Tops Committee. This year Box Tops raised $220.40 to support our students and teachers. The effort of this team has revitalized this program and we cannot wait to see what they have in store for the RMS community next year.
If you’d like more information on the Box Top Program, please email us rmsorptsa@gmail.com.
Our final Thank You is for Lida Whitaker-Sheppard for helping the PTSA with bringing the Reflections Art Program back to RMS. If you are interested in learning more about this program and next year’s theme please use the following link https://www.pta.org/home/programs/reflections or contact your PTSA and Lida through our Gmail address.
Your PTSA continues to support our school incentive programs. Your PTSA continues to support our school incentive programs such as the Academic Achievement Awards and the RAM Perks programs. These have been supported by monies raised by families participating in the Kroger Community Rewards Program, Food City School Bucks Challenge and Amazon Smile. Kroger, Food City and Amazon’s reward programs have earned our PTSA over $4900.00!
This money along with the funds raised during our donation drive allowed us to fulfill 16 of the 19 grant requests we received from our Teachers and Staff during this year’s Teacher Request Program. We raised $6600.00 and spent $6609.00 for supplemental STEM classroom equipment, afterschool clubs and programs, educational field trips, scholarships, academic achievement rewards and awards. Our goal for next year is to raise enough funds to support all requests submitted!
PTSA Officer Elections were held at our May 14th meeting. It is a pleasure to announce and welcome our new PTSA Officers for our 2019-2020 school year:

As your current and incoming President, I’d like to say a very special thank you to my fellow officers whom I have served with for 2 years. Your dedication to our students, teachers and our school is humbling. It has been such a privilege and pleasure to have volunteered with all of you.
